Chuck Stebelton and Susie Timmons
tonight at Danny's. 7 p.m. Of course we know Chuck can rock the microphone, but it's a rare pleasure to see/hear Susie read as she keeps a low profile here around town. I think it was Eileen Myles being quoted as saying that ST was, in her opinion, the most unsung/not given her due poet that started the whole "Neglectorino" stream on Silliman's blog and then the uber-list at the site for Philly Sound. See some of you there, I hope. And tell me about your AWPs why don't you.

oh my god, was that good. it was like a séance for berrigan, ginsberg, others i am leaving out who have picked poetry up and moved it a mile down the road for a better view. and not just because chuck wrote some extra howlers into a supermarket in california, or that the spitfire candor of susie when she reads is something one can see jump off the page and join her.
but because i was too agape to take notes, because chuck said godforsaken computer that the greeks chose not to name, and because susie said i like tits but only my own.
someone please ask Susie to contact her old poet pal Jan from NYC/30 Great Jones Street. all that fun back in the days of St. Mark's and B&N textbook info. tell her I am still writing, but miss the typewriter in the kitchen of her apt on 7th street. please email me: janiejojo@rochester.rr.com Thank you
